GDOT Contracts Awarded to Senate District 7

ATLANTA (July 22, 2016) | On July 1, 2016, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announced it awarded 55 contracts for statewide construction projects totaling over $171.3 million. These projects were advertised for bids in May, bids were received in June and contracts were awarded on July 1.

Projects in District 7 include four design-build bridge replacement bundles located in Atkinson, Ben Hill, Ware and Bacon Counties.

“Due to the passage of HB 170, The Transportation Funding Act, we are now able to achieve these much needed improvements to our road system,” said Sen. Tyler Harper. “This new contract with GDOT will undoubtedly help to protect the safety and wellbeing of those travelling in and around District 7. I look forward to continuing to work with GDOT and the General Assembly on other necessary road construction to ensure safe travels throughout our community.”
